Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible, the business must:

  • Be based in and actively operating in Alberta
  • Be a registered business (sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation)
  • Have 25 employees or less
  • Earn less than $500,000 in active business income during the taxation year (as defined by the Government of Alberta)

How to Apply:

Interested businesses (or nominators) must fill out a form providing:

  • Business and nominator info
  • A short write-up on why the business deserves the grant
  • Consent confirmation from the nominee

May 14, 2025

Winner Announced:

June 3, 2025

terms & Conditions:

  • Only one grant recipient will be selected unless otherwise announced.
  • A second-place winner may be contacted and offered the grant should the original recipient fail to follow through with the program implementation.
  • The grant holds no cash value and is non-transferable.
  • Businesses must be able to demonstrate active operations within Alberta and meet the defined small business criteria.
  • The winning business agrees to participate in a short post-program interview or feature, which may be used in promotional materials.
  • By applying or being nominated, you confirm that the nominee has consented to the submission.
  • 1st Quality Safety is not responsible for any costs associated with additional initiatives, such as training, SECOR/COR audits, or further safety-related program development beyond what is included in the grant.
  • Safety program development alone does not guarantee SECOR/COR.
